The Black Snowflake (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a new strain of clownfish first developed at ORA. It was created by crossing our black ice snowflakes back to our line of black ocellaris over multiple generations. The result was a spectacular new variety of ocecllaris that has unique patterning in each fish. It should be noted that, like our black ocellaris, these fish spend their first year of life gradually darkening to their final black coloration and some individuals ultimately retain traces of orange on their faces.
Black Snowflakes come in a wide array of patterns with varying degrees of white.
